The HR Assistant will help the Director of Human Resources in administoring the daily organizational support functions of this office. The HR Department's strategic objective is to make LSS/NCA a fun, inspiring and affirming place to work. You may find additional information on our agency at www.lssnca.org.

Responsibilities

Personnel compliance
• Maintain personnel files according to the departments procedures
• Ensure documents/forms submitted by staff are filed in its prospective places, in a timely manner
• Create new personnel files for new staff; move files of terminated employees into the inactive files drawer-ensuring that the supervisor files have been returned from the direct supervisor
• Continue process improvement through implementation of department procedures

Applicant Tracking.
• Manage recruiting e-mail account
• Update Applicant tracking database
• Send out acknowledgment emails to candidates
• Create Applicant packets

Employee Relations.
• Assist with All Staff events
• Create materials needed for events

Other projects
• Perform assigned duties as specified by Director
• Ask questions when unclear on direction to go into
• Submit assignment as detailed in instructions provided by Director

General duties, procedures
• Keep daily log of hours on form provided by Director
• Keep receipts for any authorized expenditures and submit them immediately to Director
• Update Work in Progress tracking form and meet for at least 30 minutes weekly for discussion

Requirements

Minimum requirements: Passion for learning. Knowledge of MS Office Suite. Critical thinking skills. Team player. 20 hrs per week

Preferred requirements: Human Resources, or other Business majors preferred, but anyone with a passion for social justice and strong critical thinking skills is encouraged to apply.
