Depending upon each colleges specific "credit" requirements, qualified candidates may receive internship credit for either 1 or 2 semesters, 3 or 6 credits (students must check with their career center/internship counselor to clarify). This unique internship offer as intense training program that prepares the intern for a professional career. Students who are selected will undergo training designed to prepare them for Aflac's Marketing and/or Management team. This comprehensive training combined with hands-on field experience improves resumes and dramatically increase confidence. SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL BE OFFERED FULL-TIME POSITIONS. Atleast 7 of the top 10 Aflac Mid-Atlantic Associates & Managers since the year 1998, started as interns during their college career. Those 7, each year, were offered full time positions upon graduation and are currently among Aflac's leaders nationwide.
ResponsibilitiesAll aspects of this internship include promotion of our company via social media/social network platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram. As well as traditional word of mouth marketing
-update & maintain our social media presence via status updates and social netwroking posts on various social media platforms
-update social media accounts with current and relevant photos, videos, or other content from activities and/or events we take part in
-perform research to find articles, stories, resources, or other content that is relevant to our customers/client base and upon approval, post them to our social networks in a professional manner that invites conversation and interaction
-the internship will also include helping to educate and train lesser skilled interns and career professionals within the organization on how to become more productive and proficient in the area of social media marketing - including human resources, sales management, sales & marketing
**When working within the Human Resources or Sales Management departments
-increase brand awareness by driving internet traffic using social media marketing to increase internship and career interviewing activity
-utilize social media platforms such as Facebook and LinkedIn to find potential candidates to fill internship and career positions available
-initiating contact with potential intern and/or career candidates for open positions through the use of social media
-thorough and organized follow up through the primary use of social media, email, text and/phone conversations
