For almost 200 years, Episcopal Social Services (ESS), accredited by the Council on Accreditation, has helped meet the pressing needs of the vast numbers New York City's disadvantaged. ESS has remained flexible in responding to the changing needs of the disadvantaged with an unchanging mission to help children, families and other individuals become independent and self-sufficient, and to make the most of their opportunities and potential. Today ESS, through its multi-site programs and services, meaningfully touches over 5,000 lives every year throughout all of New York City, with an emphasis on the South Bronx and Manhattan. ESS's non-sectarian work focuses on strengthening children, families and adults through programs in foster care and adoption, early childhood education, after-school initiatives, and group homes for developmentally disabled adults.
ESS seeks a motivated Human Resources Intern (unpaid/ for school credit) for our Human Resources Departments. In this position, the intern will assist the Department with a diverse set of roles that will help to build their expertise and provide hands-on experience in the various aspects of the Human Resources Department.

Responsibilities• HR administrative tasks such as filing, faxing and scanning
• Recruitment support such as reference checks and phone screenings
• Assistance with the upkeep of employee files
• Data Entry
• Any special projects as needed
Requirements• Must be able to dedicate a minimum of 15 hours per week to the internship, on a regular defined schedule
• Knowledge of MS Office applications such as Word and Excel required
• Working towards a college degree in Human Resources, Non-profit administration, or any other related field
• Ability to create databases
• Strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
• Willingness and desire to learn about all aspects of Human Resources
• Graduate students preferred
