Creative, forward-thinking, unique, and innovative small independent private school looking to hire an intern with strong knowledge and skills in human resources. The goal of an internship in human resources is to apply knowledge acquired in the classroom to real-world situations, as well as gain the skills and experience that is necessary to prepare the student for a successful career in human resources.
Complete prescreen interviews with new candidates to gather appropriate information in accordance with company policies prior to placement.
Administer the processing of new candidates and new contractor information ensuring for completeness.
On a daily basis, ensure the integrity of the file completion process by gathering credentials in accordance with company policies and client requirements prior to placement of candidates.
Generate business by updating candidate availability information continually, maintain general awareness of open job orders and surfacing matching candidates.
Submit job postings to schools and organizations and contact contractors from call lists to inquire about interest and qualification for open orders.
Develop a pool of qualified candidates in advance of need.
Complete common administrative tasks on a daily basis.
Review applications and rated applicants based on search criteria.
Complete common Human Resource tasks on a daily basis.
Assist the Director and HR team with posting positions, sourcing resumes, scheduling interviews, and conducting initial phone screenings.
Participate in college recruiting events to represent the company and identify potential candidates
Provide administrative support to Director and HR managers, including, calendar management, organizing travel and events, completing expense reports, and submitting service requests
Answer phones, distribute mail, print/copy documents, order supplies, and set up meetings including conference lines/ video conferences.
Demonstrate discretion, integrity, fair-mindedness, and a persuasive, congenial personality
Preparing materials for orientation
Preparing all new hire paperwork
Advertising all open job positions
Creating new personnel files
RequirementsWhat We Require
Working towards an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
Possess and exhibit a strong and genuine interest in working with people and the ability to interact at all levels of the organization
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
Detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Reliable and able to show up to internship when scheduled
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Flexibility and able to adapt easily

Each intern must provide verification that he/she is receiving college-level academic credit or completion of hours for requirement for a course for the internship prior to beginning the assignment.
You are expected to work 5 - 20 hours a week
