Niagara Foundation is a non-profit organization that was founded in Chicago in 2004 but has 22 branches in Michigan, Missouri, Indiana, Ohio, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, and Wisconsin. Niagara Foundation strives to foster civic conversations and sustained relationships between people of different cultures and faiths.
Internship opportunities are available every quarter/semester for students who wish to participate in a learning environment where he or she will gain work experience for the future. The intern will work closely with the Director of Human Resources on recruitment, training, and other employee related projects simultaneously.
ResponsibilitiesInterns assigned to the Human Resources internships will choose one of the two tracks: Recruitment or Training and Development.
Human Resource interns working in Recruitment will communicate with potential new job candidates at career fairs and via phone and email, assisting with both creating interest in Niagara Foundation internships and selecting the strongest applicants.
Human Resource interns working in Training and Development will work to streamline the Niagara Foundation's job training process by developing new orientation techniques incorporating both written materials and visual presentations, as well as facilitating training sessions.
RequirementsStudents who are currently attending an accredited college and have achieved junior status are eligible.
Students majoring in human resources are preferred; other majors will be considered.
Participants must have good computer skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities and knowledge of current events.
A 3.0 GPA or above is recommended.
Students must be able to meet the minimum time commitment of 12 hours per week for 12 weeks.
