DescriptionAFLAC is a Fortune 500 company who is the worlds largest provider of supplemental insurance . We have been in the insurance industry since 1955 and have 91% brand recognition with the company's symbol of the duck nationwide. The goal of the internship is to provide college students with the opportunity to gain real world experience in the field of Human Resources. Students will be trained and coached on becoming an integral part of the recruiting and onboarding process for new agents. Additionally, students will be immersed in a variety of HR related tasks in the office Seminars from industry professionals designed to enrich the students' HR skill sets will be hosted throughout the program.
ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include, but are not limited to, being entirely involved in the recruiting process from searching for resumes online, scheduling interviews, pre-screening leads, interviewing candidates, and tracking the results for the field sales agents with AFLAC. Additionally, students will be expected to assist in answering emails of applicants and associates, manage front desk responsibilities, and maintain stock of product based on associates needs. The regional manager will work with the students in tailoring the internship program to meet their needs in terms of areas they wish to derive beneficial experience from.
RequirementsThe purpose of the internship is to assist the district managers with the regional growth and development of the AFLAC organization in the DC Metro area. Only candidates that will be staying in the Northern Virginia/DC/Metro area for the duration of their internship will be considered.
The 10 week internship will take place from September 15th through November 20th. Schedule is flexible and entirely up to the students. We only ask that you be able to commit at least 10 hours per week, but you are free to work as many hours as desired. This is an ideal position for students who wish to complete an internship program and receive academic credit for a semester or quarter course. We welcome students with all majors.
