DescriptionLevain Bakery is looking for a talented HR Intern to join our growing team in our Harlem office. This person will assist our HR Director with a wide variety of HR functions, keeping a large emphasis on recruiting and hiring. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in learning the ins and outs of human resources and has an interest and passion for the NYC food industry. While learning about one of the city’s most iconic food destinations, you will be helping shape its culture. We currently have three locations: Upper West Side, Harlem and Wainscott and will be opening up a fourth location on the Upper West Side next year, so there is a great deal of opportunity to grow with our company.
Some of your tasks will include:
Creating and managing job postings
Screening resumes and completing phone interviews for potential candidates
Updating and maintaining personnel files
Streamlining and ensuring successful onboarding for new employees
Scheduling interviews for HR Director and other managers
Administering and assisting with benefits
Addressing worker's compensation, disability, unemployment claims, as needed
Helping set key policies to ensure legal compliance
Diligent, responsible worker
Demonstrates high emotional intelligence
Commitment to mission of the company
Collaborative and team-oriented
Excellent organizational and planning skills
Hands-on mentality and ability to multi-task
Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferably in HR, Management, Psychology or Hospitality
Must be adaptable and open to working in a fluid environment
