Sheltering Arms seeks a motivated Human Resources Intern (unpaid/ for school credit) for our Human Resources Department. In this position, the intern will assist the Department with a diverse set of roles that will help to build their expertise and provide hands-on experience in the various aspects of the Human Resources Department.

Responsibilities• HR administrative tasks such as filing, faxing and scanning
• Recruitment support such as reference checks and phone screenings
• Benefits Administration support such as creating packets for new hire orientation and monthly newsletter
• Assistance with the upkeep of employee files and records
• Data Entry
• Any special projects as needed
Requirements• Must be able to dedicate a minimum of 20 hours per week to the internship, on a regular defined schedule
• Knowledge of MS Office applications such as Word and Excel required
• Working towards a degree in Human Resources, Non-profit administration, or any other related field
• Ability to create databases
• Strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
• Willingness and desire to learn about all aspects of Human Resources
• Graduate students preferred
