Central Wholesalers is currently seeking a Human Resources Intern to join the corporate HR team located in Laurel, MD. The intern will report directly to the HR Director and will provide support to 3 HR Generalists, 1 HR Coordinator and 1 Benefits Specialist. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in a fast-paced HR department that services multiple states and 500 + employees. Duties will be primarily administrative in nature, however the right candidate will have ample opportunity to be involved in more strategic HR functions as the internship progresses.
This is a part-time, hourly position with flexible work hours. This internship opportunity is available for the Spring and/or Summer and may eventually lead to a full-time position for the right candidate. ResponsibilitiesAssist with recruiting to include advertising, resume reviewing, scheduling interviews and completing reference checks
Assist with all administrative needs of the department, to include filing, faxing and preparation of new hire materials
Draft disciplinary action and other forms of documentation
Assist Director of HR with special projects as needed
RequirementsCollege coursework in Human Resources or a related field
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Prior internship or office experience preferred
Basic proficiency with Excel and Word
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
