DescriptionThe Alterra Group, LLC. has an outstanding opportunity for a student who is planning on entering the Human Resources profession. The candidate selected for the position should have a sincere desire to learn and experience as much as possible during the internship. The internship is a minimum of 150 hours, 15-20 hours per week, at $9.00 per hour, with no promise or guarantee of a position at the end of the internship. We are a fast-growing mortgage company, with 537 employees, in 12 states, with 55 branches. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on real-world experience with a growing company. This can be done with or without college credit. Prefer a student in his/her senior year.

ResponsibilitiesYou can expect to be involved in the following;
•Recruiting and Selection; Helping to make sure we get the best and brightest talent we can find.
•Employee Benefits; Helping with our annual Open Enrollment, as well as our first employee Health and Wellness Fair.
•Human Resources Information System (HRIS); Assisting with data entry, learning how to work with ADP's cutting-edge.
•Legal Compliance; Helping to ensure our systems and processes are working well within state and federal laws, rules, regulations, etc.
You will have a chance to work with a team of seasoned HR professionals and each one will act as a resource for you. Your primary coach and mentor will be the Director of Human Resources, who has over 25 years of experience in HR. He has a MS degree in HR Management, as well as a BS degree in Business Administration. He also holds SPHR, PHRca, and SHRM-SCP certifications. And, he has taught HR classes at the college and university levels. He will make sure you are exposed to a wide variety of HR learning opportunities via real world experience, seminars, webinars, publications and other media.
This internship is not for someone one merely needs an internship to graduate college. This is for someone who really wants to make a career for herself or himself in the field of Human Resources Management.
Requirements•Accurate data entry skills
•Good communication skills with both internal and external customers
•Good organization skills and keen attention to detail
•Ability to examine documents for accuracy and completeness
•Ability to understand and interpret policies and regulations
•Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree – Accounting/Finance degree preferred
•Available to work (15-20 hours/week starting)
•Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (advanced Excel skills a plus)
•Strong analytical skills, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task
•Excellent interpersonal & communications skills
•Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of information
•Minimum 3.0 GPA
