The Legal Recruiting Profession
Experienced legal recruiters can earn between $35,000 and 300,000 per year. They often work in offices and some work virtually as we do. Most search firms pay their employees either a straight commission or a draw against commission arrangement. Standard weekly salaries are not common.
Our Legal Recruiting Interns work a minimum of 6 hours per week. They can work more hours if they choose to. Most of the work can be done at any time of the day, night or weekend with certain exceptions.
This internship is for a minimum of 3 months. Interns can work beyond 3 months if they want to do that. The position is a virtual/home-based unpaid position. Thus, location doesn’t matter. They receive extensive mentoring. They will learn about various aspects of the field.
1-VRAs attain certain people, research and work skills.
2-Depending on the amount of time they stay with us, they can learn enough to find quality positions in legal and in other recruiting fields. There are recruiting firms a.k.a. search firms for most professional and non-professional fields.

Responsibilities1-Interns research and develop lists of emails for partners and associates from various major law firm web-sites.
2-They make periodic calls to law firm recruiting coordinators for various types of information and to follow up on resumes we submit.
3-They search through law firm web-sites to identify and list the current open positions that the firms have.
4-They make calls to attorney prospects to see if they are interested in making a lateral move. [This is when a major law firm partner or associate takes a position at another major law firm versus a position in-house [A corporate legal department. A position called In-House Counsel.]
Requirements1-Applicants must speak English fluently and clearly. Those not easily understood right away would not be qualified.
2-They must have quality listening skills, can follow directions carefully and are very assertive, detail-oriented, cordial and tenacious.
3-Applicants must be proficient in the use of computers. Word, Excel Spreadsheets, etc
