Industrial Design Internship
Job Description
This intern position is ideal for a student pursuing an Industrial Design degree. You must be a current student attending an accredited university with a minimum academic status of a sophomore and a minimum GPA of 3.0.

The Industrial Design Intern will work closely with a team to develop new products or engineering prototypes supporting the Home Goods & Pet businesses. Typical products include pet beds, cat furniture, and home goods such as outdoor furniture and headboards. The Industrial Designer should have strong visual design skills, a clear understanding of user interaction with the product, and knowledge of manufacturing and engineering methods.

We work around your school schedule and are very flexible with hours.
Duties and Responsibilities:
-Work with a lead Industrial Designer and the product development team to generate conceptual designs that combine product appeal, functionality, and manufacturability.
-Design and oversee fabrication of mockups for review by team leaders.
-Collaborate closely with mechanical and other design engineers to create detailed prototypes.
-Develop graphical assets for display based products.
-Perform product research in the areas of current products in the field, market trends and materials/process and an understanding of the products functions and uses in its given environment.

Desired Qualifications:
-Ability to quickly sketch design concepts and present to team
-Proficiency with common design tools such as Adobe (Illustrator/Photoshop) and other relevant programs
-Be motivated and have strong problem solving skills and good design intuition.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
