Theater Internships

INTERNSHIPS All Internships are unpaid. Internships run between the hours of 9am and 6pm, Monday through Friday. There are several different internship positions and they each require 10-15 hours per week in the office at the venue and there may be fieldwork or homework as well. Dont worry, its not your normal stuffy internship. We want people that can come up with their own good ideas and execute them. The internships are highly competitive and we demand reliable, honest, hard working individuals. Each internship position will have a different area of focus where special projects will be developed. All internships are unpaid. School credit is possible for internships. You do gain the ability to attend all the Granada shows FREE of charge. So youve got that going for ya. Please include your availability. -GRAPHIC DESIGN INTERN (2 POSITIONS): We need an intern who is an artist with strong computer skills who can specialize in graphic design. This position will help to create banner ads, print ads, posters and anything else that comes up. Creativity a must and knowledge of the local art scene and local artists is a plus as well. Photoshop & Illustrator proficiency required.

Dixon Place seeks technical interns to work in all aspects of production from load-in, to running shows, and load-out. After training, interns will run shows independently operating state-of-the-art lighting and sound consoles. Interns will work directly with artists and the production staff, assisting in the technical needs of nightly performances. Hours vary from week to week, but are generally in the afternoons and evenings, totaling approximately 40 hours a week. Responsibilities include working directly with the Technical Director, communicating with artists to understand their technical needs, and running lighting, sound and video for nightly performances. Entertainment Technology experience is suggested, but not required. Weekly travel and food stipend - $100/week . Start Date: Negotiable (Late May to First September 2013) Schedule: Negotiable / Minimum 24 hours per week We are looking for an intern to work in our office for the Summer with a possibility of a full time position in our Crockett Texas office. There will be local lodging and a negotiated stipend involved, but intention is for this position to also be awarded school credit for your work with us, if your school is open to such arrangements. This is a great opportunity to learn the ins and outs of an award winning community arts organization while working in the professional entertainment world, gaining knowledge and experience in Arts Management. D-Squared Dance Theater is a dance and cultural arts organization. We are seeking bright, motivated interns with a background in marketing. We are particularly interested in candidates that have experience with online marketing and social media. The Marketing and Social Media Internship is an opportunity to gain valuable online experience from a technological prospective working with a non-profit starter arts company. Marketing Interns will work with the D-Squared Dance Theater. Interns will help promote the Company, and its performance dates, workshops and other marketing initiatives. Interns will also contribute to the social media efforts of the Company. Responsibilities: Maintain the D-Squared Dance Theaters presence on Facebook, Twitter and Linked-in Promote performances, events, workshops and other marketing campaigns of the company Write content for the social platforms (light content creation) Develop a social media following on other websites, including but not limited to Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Youtube and Tumblr Manage marketing and social media projects, as necessary or needed

Sanford Arts is an Integrative Health program housed within the Cancer Center at Sanford USD Medical Center, in Sioux Falls, SD. As a student intern your primary obligation and privilege will be to work with patients, caregivers, and sometimes staff creating projects and works of art. Each opportunity to meet with a participant is unique giving you the ability to use your skills and flexibility to discover new abilities in yourself and with whom you work. Your interactions with participants are meant to provide a deviation from any normal visit, in that you are providing opportunities to gain a skill, develop mastery, reduce nervousness, ultimately working for an improved experience. All work is with the arts and within the medium you know and love. This internship may also serve as in introduction to an Expressive Therapies internship. You will not be seeing clients in the same manner as in a therapeutic relationship, however many aspects to this internship serve as introductory components to Expressive Therapy practice in a healthcare setting. Your supervisor is an Expressive Therapist and will hold weekly discussions on Expressive Therapies topics.

Galli Theater is a non-profit children's theater company with three theaters in Manhattan and the Bronx. We are involved in a variety of activities, including public and private performances, hospital and other charity performances and workshops, classes, and summer camps. Interns will be involved in a number of ways within each activity, as need arises. They may assist in camps, with the music technician, with show needs (box office, theater preparation, etc.), and a number of additional areas.

We are looking for student teachers to help train young students in the fundamental in acting and how to produce a play. A great way to get experience in the teaching. The class takes place on Saturdays at 10 am at the 133rd Street Arts Center 308 West 133rd Street between St nicholas ave and 8th Avenue.

Interns work with the Production Coordinator, Master Carpenter, Master Electrician, House Sound Engineer, and house crew on all aspects of technical theatre and film. This includes hands-on in all of the following areas carpentry, lighting, sound, audio/visual, and running crew.
