Founded in 1949 as a non-profit education organization, Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge is dedicated to helping students and teachers, and citizens of all ages, gain a greater awareness and appreciate for the principles of a free and democratic society. Our purpose is to educate and inspire responsible, engaged citizens who make a positive contribution to their local communities. The Vice President of Education of Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge seeks an intern who reports to the VP and works in conjunction with the Education Office Coordinator, Education Program Staff, Maintenance Staff, and Administrative Staff. Intern will assist with administrative and managerial tasks, including social networking communications, designing and writing a monthly newsletter, maintaining a Constant Contact database, working on the company webpage, developing and maintaining alumni relations, supervising set-up for programs, and developing new education programs. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and social networks like Facebook and Twitter is a must. Intern may be expected to attend FFVF events and monitor programming preparations. Intern must effectively communicate with our partner organizations, program alumni, national membership, and vendors. Background in Marketing, Communications, History or Political is a plus. Intern will learn about non-profits educational tours and programming that includes maintaining an 85-acre campus with multiple dormitories and gathering spaces. This includes budgeting, scheduling, marketing, vendor relations, fund raising, and event planning.
