DescriptionWordflirt is a small San Jose based agency providing web design, social media marketing and writing resources to businesses. This is a Wordpress Designer Internship position which would include:
1. Set up Wordpress on a given domain, install the theme and all the infrastructure to support the design of client's websites.
2. Add and activate plugins, set up shortcodes, load images
3. Design the look according to the client's brand, style and color preferences.
Projects could include additional photo editing, video hosting set up or other features as requested by client.
ResponsibilitiesWordpress Designer will take information provided by the client and a Wordflirt representative to create a business website for clients. Wordflirt will provide a scope of the job and have a full intake conversation with the client to understand their vision. The Wordpress Designer can be a part of this process or receive direction from the Wordflirt rep. Most content will be written and provided by Wordflirt. Designer will work with Wordflirt to determine the best format for presenting the content on the website, including pages, posts, media and plugins.
We are willing to provide timesheets and complete paperwork for internship credits. This is an unpaid internship with bonus potential.
RequirementsWe are looking for an independent worker who is proficient in Wordpress and has some basic Photoshop skills. Examples of previous sites is required. Samples could include projects completed in class, for personal websites or professional sites you've developed. Full knowledge of Wordpress, the use of plugins, themes and other tools is required.
Requires the ability to communicate well and understand what a client is asking for. This position will be 80% remote, but will require in-person meetings for 2-4 hours per week in San Jose. Candidate should have their own laptop and some form of photo editing tool.
