Forward-thinking, fast paced company looking to hire an intern with strong knowledge and understanding of the digital media landscape, including various social media websites. Company is currently redesigning its website, and will soon launch a social media campaign. The intern hired for this position will need strong critical thinking skills in order to integrate into our vibrant and passionate team who are very excited to share this exciting launch with an intern hoping to gain a ton of great online experience.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding and passion for the social media/networking space. This position will carry multiple responsibilities such as content coordination and publishing, online promotions, metrics gathering, and seamless tactical integration within existing marketing, PR, and community plans.

This person is responsible for coordinating conversations between our internal Product Marketing Managers and blogs, micro blogs, message boards, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn to increase communications reach, and promote community engagement with The Galvin Group.

This candidate will be an integral part of our marketing team and will be encouraged to contribute with new ideas.

Interns have full access to a town house in NYC and can work from there (location to be disclosed upon offer) Interns can also work remotely. Weekly meetings to take place on Fridays at 1PM are mandatory via video group chat. Platform (TBD)

Contribute to website redesign project in various ways
Monitor and post on blogs, forums, and social networks
Online outreach and promotion using Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn, Twitter, and more
Website and social media optimization
Keyword analysis
Cost/benefit analysis
Update and monitor a diverse portfolio of The Galvin Group’s social media properties
Create weekly and/or monthly social media metrics and analytics reports
Monitor and recommend emerging social networking trends and social media best practices
Create and execute our social media strategy

Requirements

Requirements

This position requires the ability to communicate effectively with customers, partners and employees across our social media channels to create and nurture customer awareness. Writing, marketing and technical skills are a must. Please be prepared to present a portfolio that establishes your writing skills and social media expertise.

Students applying for this internship should be Marketing/Business or Language majors, with 3 years of experience on the Web and a solid understanding of modern age markets.

A working knowledge of online platforms, emerging technologies, and trends in social media including LinkedIn, Facebook, Google+, Twitter, Blogs and YouTube.

College student (entering sophomore year or above) majoring in marketing or business related field
Ability to work 10 to 15 hours a week.

Must be self-motivate and not afraid to solve problems independently, yet still very open to mentoring.
