Communications Measurement Intern

Job Summary


College-level intern should have a full understanding of HTML. The candidate should have basic skills in web development and a good understanding of social media. They will assist the UPSers.com Information Architecture (IA) team in auditing existing site areas as well as in the development of new content site areas. The candidate will also be exposed to the design and project management phases of developing a portal site area as well as measurement through the use of Web Trends. The candidate will help develop and measure social media activities for employees.


Other Duties



  • Help IA Supervisor design a development a new content site area.

  • Perform Web Content Management (WCM) audit on existing HTML and menu components to determine if needed or comply with new standards.

  • Perform code reviews on WCM components

  • Work with content authors are adhering the most recent portal guidelines and standards.

  • Participate in developing social media guidelines for employees and programs to help engage employees in social media activities.

  • Assist in developing social media measurement for employees.

  • Help IA specialist evaluate current Web Trends reports and develop plan to reduce or consolidate current reports.

  • Generate weekly Web Trends report.

Skills Needed



  • Strong analytical, time management, and communication (verbal/written) skills

  • Thorough attention to detail is imperative

Education



  • Must be a current student pursuing a Bachelors or equivalent degree

Job Summary:     Perform analysis, create process documentation, and develop process flow charts on current processes. Make recommendations using established methodology. Perform cost/benefit analysis and track use of planned and actual resources. Determine approach and develop/support desktop solutions when necessary.


Job Description:    Plan and track progress of assigned projects. Prepare project related documentation including project charter and cost/benefit analysis. Determine essential process requirements from business and regulatory requirements. Make process improvement recommendations including presentations to department and staff level management. If solution requires technology, will work with either the IT organization in development and implementation of an IT project, or will develop the solution with desktop software. Provide support for existing desktop solutions and offer technical assistance to assist F&A meet changing business requirements.


Required Skills:    Strong overall accounting background with good understanding of accounting principles. Must actively be pursuing an Accounting, Finance, or Economics degree with at least 2 years completed.
