Turning Internships into Permanent Jobs

Students who have taken part in internships have a better chance of finding a full-time job, whether it’s in San Diego or elsewhere, upon graduation. In fact, according to a survey by the National Association of College and Employers (NACE), employers retain 53.3% of eligible interns as full-time employees.

Some tips to keep in mind during your internship that might help you get closer to the status of a permanent employee at a San Diego company are:

Being courteous and respectful to peers and colleagues and not indulging in idle office gossip.
Asking questions that can help you understand your job and perform better.
Being punctual, arriving on time, and consistently producing timely and high quality work.
Being proactive and showing initiative. Employers are always on the lookout for employees who are willing to learn and develop.
Being a team player and showing enthusiasm for company projects. Working productively with others as part of a team.
Keeping your personal life outside of the office environment. Try and limit your talk with friends and refrain from sending personal emails on internship time.
