At g33ktalk, we're building an international community of top software engineers with startup ambitions, and students that participate in our internship program experience the opportunity to grow their personal and professional network through our deep relationships with the NYC and San Francisco Bay tech startup communities.

Work with Grassroots Manager, and other Public Affairs staff as needed, to engage affiliate communities in advocacy work. Tasks include: event coordination, volunteer recrutiment, communication with partner organizations, and face-to-face interaction with community.

Undergraduate students interested in the Communications Internship will work with the Communications and Marketing Director to develop and organize media lists, submit letters-to-the-editor and be a liaison between PPSP and clients interested in sharing their stories. THE OPPORTUNITY With 4 million commercial rooftops ready for solar, Greenzu is poised to help America remove 57 Billion tons of CO2 from the air. Now we need a few smart, creative, interns to communicate this to the nation's media and business leaders. Our interns help us research the cost and benefits of clean tech for our clients. Special Events Intern Meals On Wheels of San Francisco The Organization Meals On Wheels of San Francisco is committed to the belief that all seniors have the right to live independently with dignity and respect in their own homes for as long as it is safely possible. It is our mission to provide isolated homebound seniors in San Francisco with nutritious meals, daily human contact, and supportive services to prevent their premature institutionalization. The food, companionship, safety checks, and other support we provide are vital services for seniors who want to continue living in their own homes but cannot shop or prepare meals for themselves. Our network of drivers, social workers, nutritionists, community partners, volunteers, donors, and advocates are a formidable force against senior neglect and malnutrition. We believe in delivering more than a meal we are nourishing the whole person. The Position Reporting to the Events Manager, the Special Events Intern will work closely with the Development team on multiple aspects of Meals On Wheels San Franciscos annual Star Chefs & Vintners Gala. The MOWSF Star Chefs & Vintners Gala will be held Sunday, April 21, 2013 at Fort Mason Center, and features top chefs and wineries from all over Northern California. Our Gala raises $1.9 million to feed homebound seniors in San Francisco. This is an exciting opportunity to experience the planning and execution of a major fundraising event. The Special Events Intern assists with project management, data entry, and logistical support for the Development Department. He or she will provide significant support for all aspects of the silent auction, from donor solicitation to inventory, project management, donor relations, and volunteer management. In addition, he or she will be involved with the planning and production of other MOWSF special events during the internship term. This is a part-time, unpaid position from February to late-May 2013. Ideal candidates will be able to commit 15-20 hours/week. Students and individuals seeking to transition to non-profit development or event production work are especially encouraged to apply. 2013 Internship Opportunities The First Tee of San Francisco (TFTSF) is a 501(c )(3) non-profit organization with the mission to impact the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf. TFTSF is a local chapter of a national organization currently located at TPC Harding Park- 99 Harding Road, San Francisco, CA 94132 TFTSF is a year-round life skill, golf instruction and mentoring program that uses the principles of golfdiscipline, hard work and integrityto enhance the academic achievement and leadership skills of youth from all backgrounds. We provide character education to young people ages 6-17, through after-school programs, summer camps and an on-campus school program taught through the physical education classes called The First Tees National School Program. During the 2013 school year, TFTSF will serve almost 8,000 youth. In addition to the programs listed above, TFTSF also operates a practice facility at Visitacion Valley Middle School complete with a driving range, putting green, and chipping area atop the schools playground.
