An IT Technician is someone who knows a lot about computer software and hardware. The IT Technician is responsible for installing and maintaining computer hardware, software, and networks. You will make sure that software programs run properly on computers and you will be responsible to assemble and troubleshoot the hardware. You will connect computers in a network and install, remove, and update computer programs as well as helps clients recover lost data. An IT technician provides client service via telephone, email and face-to-face contact. Part of the job is ensuring that all hardware and software work properly.


-Be familiar with all hardware and software
-Install hardware and software systems
-Maintain and repair equipment
-Troubleshoot a variety of computer issues
-Set up computer security measures
-Configure computer networks
-Offer technical support on-site or via phone or email
-Maintain current and accurate inventory of technology hardware, software and resources
-Make recommendations about purchase of technology resources
-Offer up suggestions concerning the access of support and information
-Other related duties


-Highly knowledgeable in a wide array of software programs and in troubleshooting
Software and hardware equipment
-Have sufficient knowledge on basic networking
-Ability to install and administer computer hardware, software and networks
-Strong verbal and written communications skills
-Time management skills
-Exceptional problem-solving skills
-Extremely organized and able to juggle multiple projects at once
