Downtown Development Association of Lincolnton 114 East Main Street Lincolnton, North Carolina 28092 704.736.8915 704.736.8917 (fax) The Downtown Development Association of Lincolnton (DDA) is a 501(c) (3) development corporation that promotes historic preservation, protection, and use of Lincolnton's traditional downtown area. DDA is structured on the Main Street Four-Point ApproachTM to downtown revitalization: Organization, the management of human and financial capital; Promotion, the cultivation of a positive image of downtown through marketing its characteristics toward residents, investors, and visitors; Design, the enhancement of the physical aspects of the downtown district through the rehabilitation of historic buildings, streetscaping projects, and support of planning personnel; and Economic Restructuring, the recruitment of new businesses and economic uses, and conversion of underused space into more economically productive property. Position Title: IT/Web Specialist Position Summary: The IT/Web Specialist will be responsible for constructing a Web site for DDA; writing, editing, and developing Web site content; gathering and researching information that enhance the value of the site; and gathering user feedback for website improvement and enhancements. Responsibilities/Duties: - Work with Business & Community Development Director, staff, and DDA Board of Directors in developing a Web site that conveys the mission, character, and activities of DDA - Research and implement innovative Qualifications: - Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and the Internet - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Self-motivated, dependable, and proactive - Must be a team player who is also comfortable working independently - Demonstrated management and problem solving skills - Must have a positive, outgoing attitude Benefits: The Business Retention & Expansion Specialist will have the opportunity to personally contribute to the revitalization of downtown Lincolnton through working with one of only 10 nationally accredited Main Street Programs in the state of North Carolina. While this is not a paid internship, he or she will have opportunities to gain experience in an exciting non-profit setting, make industry contacts, and complete significant projects for his or her portfolio.
