DescriptionEldridge Overton Educational Programs is a progressive educational services firm that offers academic support to students of all ages. Our innovative agency partners with families, school districts, nonprofit agencies, state agencies and private entities to offer enrichment courses, gifted and talented programs, leadership training, professional tutoring and much, much more. Interns work in our corporate office, which is located in Green Brook, NJ.
Interested in developing web and mobile apps? EOEP is currently seeking student interns to develop iOS and Android apps. Working as a fast-paced and creative team, you will be involved in the start to finish process of designing, developing, testing, and implementing web and mobile applications in the areas of teaching, learning, and research.
As respected members of the Administrative team, Interns participate in weekly planning meetings and are expected to complete tasks and projects in their respective fields of study.
Our unique and highly selective internship program welcomes motivated Interns wishing to engage in a meaningful work experience to apply. Serious Interns are encouraged to apply and submit required documentation for review.
Various internships (p/t vs. f/t and one semester vs. multiple semesters) are offered. As an integral member of the EOEP, we greatly value the necessity to fully orientate Interns to the Eldridge Overton organizational culture and system. Accordingly, full time and longer termed internships (multiple semesters) are favored. However, we do hire part time and one semester Interns. Since a tremendous experience is granted via this internship, Interns may either earn college credits (where applicable) OR a monetary stipend. A minimum of 15 hours per week is required. The stipend offered is per semester, but is payable monthly throughout the duration of the internship. Interns working less than full time are offered a prorated stipend based on the number of hours worked per week. All of our previous Interns have been offered entry to competitive graduate programs, positions at top firms and Fortune 500 companies in their respective fields.
Responsibilities-Intern is responsible for developing and designing mobile applications for iPhone, iPad, and Android devices
-Provide mobile application development leadership to facilitate the implementation of mobile strategy under aggressive timelines
-Provide and adhere to best practices for mobile application development
-Ensure that developed software adheres to the functional specification requirements
-Communicate with Founding Partner during the software development lifecycle
-Troubleshoot and diagnose mobile app development/maintenance
-Refine and enhance mobile architecture and framework
-Quality Assurance Testing of mobile application on various devices
-Monitor mobile application performance, including statistics, ratings, and functions
-Provide recommendations on improvement, results, competition and new direction in mobile development
-Present a professional, positive image that reflects well on the organization.
RequirementsEOEP is seeking an intern with experience in android app development, software design, coding and debugging. Experience gained in the classroom and through personal application will be accepted.
-Intern will understand cost-reduction principles and how to implement goals
- Possess skills at assessing issues, defining solutions, and implementing strategy
- Perform well in environment that values leadership, efficiency, dependability, and organization.
- Experience with one or more of the following is preferred:
• Java for Android apps
• Objective-C for iOS apps
-Internship requires a minimum 10-15 hours/week. Flexible schedule options are available. Applicants may perform some duties off site once a professional understanding is established.
-Intern must have access to reliable PC/MAC/Laptop with internet access.
- Attention to detail and the ability to complete tasks in a timely manner are essential.
