Academic-Year Internship Program: runs from September through April

American Student Assistance® (ASA) is seeking an energetic, undergraduate intern to join our Marketing & Technology Product Development team. The intern will gain valuable, hands-on experience in product development and brand management of SALTSM, a membership program that was created to help students take charge of their finances during college and beyond. This intern will work with Marketing and Technology teams to assist with all aspects of developing and maintaining the front end of the ASA web presence, as well as social media, video, and mobile application product development. Our interns attend staff meetings, and contribute to marketing, social media and product development strategy, as well as work and meet with fellow interns for skill development projects and events throughout the program. This is a paid internship and candidate needs to be able to work 20 plus hours per week.
ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (e.g., in order to be considered to perform this position, the person must be able to perform essential duties and responsibilities listed below):
Assist in the software development of ASA’s corporate websites and digital deliveries.
Provide technical support to Marketing and technology teams, using Agile methodologies.
Participate in the development of social media, mobile applications, emails and testing.
Participate in the implementation of Gamification strategy.
Participate in QA of all deliveries.
Facilitate and represent marketing technology on internal project teams.
Provide an end user point of view, opinions and feedback on Marketing and Product Development initiatives in a constructive manner.
All other duties as assigned.

Working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Web-Related field preferred
Demonstrated experience with ASP.NET MVC, and C#, a plus
Experience building and delivering social media solutions
Experience building and delivering a CMS, a plus
Experience building and delivering mobile solutions, a plus
Experience building and delivering Gamification solutions, a plus
Experience implementing learning modules, a plus
Experience implementing WebTrends, a plus
Candidates will be asked to provide samples of work.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be flexible, hard-working, willing to learn and a team player.
Familiarity with saltmoney.org, blog.saltmoney.org and asa.org preferred.
Passion about higher education or non-profit marketing is always a plus!
