Responsibilities

Role and Responsibilities
The Digital Media Intern plays an important role by providing online administrative support to our national community. Responsibilities will be divided between online community upkeep and social media.
In a typical day, a Digital Media Intern could find themselves doing any of the following:
• Updating national and local website content;
• Copy editing blog posts;
• Continually update and correct database records;
• Monitoring social media platforms;
• Coordinate production and tracking weekly newsletters;
• Trouble-shooting online community;

NLC uses NationBuilder, knowledge of this platform is greatly preferred but will train the right candidate. There is potential for graphic design assignments and exposure to online fundraising.

In order to apply, please email your resume, cover letter, and contact information for two references to NLC National Engagement Director, Matti Miranda at resumes@newleaderscouncil.org with Digital Media Intern in the subject line.

Who We’re Looking For
A Digital Media Intern must be an innovative, rising star servant-leader who is passionate about civic engagement, a love for digital media, and has a strong familiarity with politics and government. Basic knowledge of HTML is required. Programming experience and understanding of online organizing are a big bonus.
New Leaders Council is young, energetic, and very diverse. It is a progressive organization dedicated to building next generation leaders across the country. Our National Board Chairman Chris Kelly embodies these ideals as an entrepreneur, activist, and mentor.
