NYHRE Technology Intern Job Description

In this role, you will provide maintenance of the computer desktop environment by resolving problems, and installing hardware and software solutions. You will assist the administration and internal support of NYHRE’s PCs, printers, servers, and related equipment. Tasks include end user support, license tracking, and performing PC maintenance, upgrades and configurations.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

• Provide helpdesk support and resolve problems to the end user’s satisfaction
• Monitor and respond quickly and effectively to staff technology requests
• Modify configurations, utilities, software default settings, etc. for the local workstation
• Assist with onboarding of new users
• Ensure each workstation has a computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse, hard drive, and any
• additional specialized equipment
• Install, test and configure new workstations, peripheral equipment and software
• Report issues to the technology consultant for escalation

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required of Intern:

• Aptitude in Windows, hardware, software and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read computer manuals and understand instructions to remedy minor computer equipment malfunctions.
• Interpersonal skills necessary to diagnose staff computer issues
• Ability to communicate problems with supervisors as they become known.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
