Description

Department: Information Technology Services

Position Summary: The ITS Intern will work closely with the ITS staff, whose roles include desktop and server support, application administration and database management. The ITS Intern will participate in both daily support activities and department projects. Projects will be selected based on the individual’s skills; past examples include inventory management, system imaging, developing database queries, developing electronic forms and workflows, and researching and resolving application issues.

The Intern will have the opportunity to expand their technical expertise and will receive a “behind the scenes” view into the workings of a mid-sized IT department and the Franklin Institute as a whole. This position is well suited for anyone considering a future career in IT and looking for some hands-on experience.

Education Requirements: Only applicants with some form of IT background will be considered. College-level interns should be pursuing a degree in an Information Technology related field.

Special Skills Required: Experience in configuration and troubleshooting of computer operating systems (Windows or MacOS) and Microsoft Office applications. Strong customer service and analytical thinking/problem-solving skills required.

Schedule Requirements: Standard business hours, minimum of 3 days per week required.
