DescriptionLocal Backhaul Networks (LBN), a leader in Network Performance Monitoring Software and Telecommunications Professional Services, is seeking a part time, experienced based, Intern Support Technician for the Summer/Fall 2015 semester. During your internship, you will assist the LBN Operations Team accountable for the support of LBN’s Network Performance Monitoring Software by providing testing, staging of equipment, customer support, and replication of customer reported issues. In addition, you assist the team with supporting the enterprise systems to ensure the availability, confidentiality and integrity of the organizations data.
What you will learn:
• Supporting technical problems and information technology issues involving desktop\laptop software, hardware or network services for local and/or remote employees.
• Best practices for trouble shooting and testing software releases and/or patches.
• Operational understanding of the balance between security and functionality.
• Inventory management for OS, security releases/patches, hardware, and software packages.
• Processes utilized to communicate with product developers for feature requests, bugs, and product enhancements.
ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot and replicate customer reported issues.
Track technical problems and issues through to completion.
Perform quality assurance testing for software releases and patches.
Provide technical assistance and advice to users as required.
Recommend changes in software and hardware to improve computer capabilities.
Install selected software and hardware products.
Support security standards (e.g. anti-virus software, firewall, patching, network access, etc.)
RequirementsPursuing a technical or related degree.
A positive, friendly customer service oriented attitude.
Strong problem solving skills.
Ability to function effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work equally well on self-managed or team-oriented projects.
Knowledge of PC and/or Mac systems, with Linux skills a plus.
