Description

The New York Stone Information Technology Intern Program is designed to provide a hands-on opportunity and environment to learn the profession of Information Technology at the entry level from the perspective of a Top Supplier of Granite, Marble and other stone products in the Tri-State New York area. We are seeking IT Interns for the traditional spring and fall semesters as well as the summer months between the spring and fall semesters. In the alternative, year around IT interns.

Responsibilities

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Working knowledge of fundamental operations of relevant software and hardware equipment (i.e. Microsoft Windows operating systems, Intel hardware, and network equipment).
Pursuing a BS in related field with a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Perform entry level service desk (aka help desk) functions including call answering/routing
Diagnose and resolve entry level technical hardware and software issues
Respond to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone, and electronically
Install new software on users computers
Clean, modify and repair computer hardware including monitors, keyboard and printers
Follow standard service desk procedures
Track and route problems and requests and document resolutions
Identify and escalate situations requiring urgent attention
Work closely with other IT professionals
Redirect problems to appropriate resource
Learn to become a liaison between IT professionals and end user
