PorterHouse Media is a full-service multi-media production company that is currently seeking web design interns to assist with duties in the Creative-Web Department. We currently have internship positions that are available immediately. Our interns leave the program with valuable real-world experience and a great resume booster. Also, there's always the possibility that an intern gets hired on if the personis exemplary and a position becomes available. The web design intern will assist the project manager and/or A&R Director with tasks related to the maintenance and development of website built on the WordPress platform. The web design intern will also assist with graphics, minor coding, and addition and editing of content including copy and images.


- Design, create, and modify websites
- Design, build or maintain websites, using authoring or scripting languages, content creation tools, management tools, and digital media
- Perform or direct website updates
- Write, design, or edit webpage content, or direct others producing content
- Confer with management or development teams to prioritize needs, resolve conflicts, develop content criteria, or choose solutions
- Back up files from websites to local directories for instant recovery in case of problems
- Identify problems uncovered by testing or team feedback, and correct problems or refer problems to appropriate personnel for correction
- Evaluate code to ensure that it is valid, is properly structured, meets industry standards and is compatible with browsers, devices, or operating systems
- Maintain understanding of current web technologies or programming practices through continuing education, reading, or participation in professional conferences, workshops, or groups
- Analyze user needs to determine technical requirements
- Develop or validate test routines and schedules to ensure that test cases mimic external interfaces and address all browser and device types

- Analyze user needs to implement website content, graphics, performance, and capacity. May integrate websites with other computer applications. May convert written, graphic, audio, and video components to compatible web formats by using software designed to facilitate the creation of web and multimedia content


The intern person will be required to work a minimum of 20 hours per week (with flexibility in a combination of on-site at our office and working virtually) Monday through Friday. Care and attention to detail is the utmost importance for this position as the intern will be working with various websites. The web design intern will work closely with the PorterHouse Media including the account managers, social media management team to make sure that our needs are met. The web design intern will meet all projects with the outstanding quality, creativeness, responsiveness and courtesy that PorterHouse Media is known for. The person in this position will be expected to manage their own time, workload, and is expected to meet or exceed to meet or exceed all deadlines. This is an excellent opportunity for the student or recent college graduate to gain valuable insight into the world of our company.

- Currently enrolled in an accredited university or college or recently graduated with an applicable degree
- Experience developing or modifying websites using the WordPress platform
- Knowledge of working with FTP access and other server side options
- HTML, CSS, Wordpress and Photoshop skills (Photoshop skills are mandatory, proficiency in Photoshop is a plus)
- Examples of websites you have developed
- Must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours a week
- Good verbal and written communication skills as well as organizational and problem resolution skills
- Technical competence (understanding web technology and new marketing techniques)
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivation and the ability to deal with changing priorities
- Manage details well
- Extremely detail oriented
- Plan and carry out responsibilities with minimal direction
