Backstage Magazine/Backstage.com is seeking interns for its Casting Department for the Winter/Spring 2014 semester in New York City. For over 50 years, Backstage has been one of the most trusted, go-to resources for opportunities in the performing arts. With a completely overhauled online casting platform and an ever-growing subscriber base, now is a great time to get an inside look at the workings of our truly unique newsroom. Journalism, marketing, film, and theater majors are strongly encouraged to apply.
Interns will participate in a variety of tasks including, but not limited to, researching and maintaining lead lists for casting content in specific mediums (i.e. web series, music videos, commercials), drafting content for our print and online editions on a regular basis, tracking entertainment industry data, and other projects as assigned.
Interns must be 18+, enrolled in college, and interested in the entertainment industry and online publishing. All candidates must be able to provide a letter from an accredited college/university showing that the internship is being accepted for school credit. Candidates must be excellent multi-taskers and possess a strong eye for detail. Note: All candidates must be able to be on-site in our Union Square office at least two days a week.
