About Accrete Group:
Accrete Group, an association management company (AMC*), supports volunteer leaders of nonprofits and associations in developing strategies to improve the organization’s capacity to serve its constituents. We provide all the staffing services tax exempt organizations require from strategic management for growth and development working with the leaders of our clients as part of their team to managing the day-to-day activities of financial management, event planning, administrative support, government relations grassroots, membership development, and publications support including print, electronic and Internet.

Internship Description:
For-Profit Sector
Conduct environmental scan to become familiar with what other Association Management Companies are doing in this area. Identify appropriate blogging platforms, recommend a platform and once approved, set up the company blog. Once established, create a blog personality that is consistent with the company’s personality. Identify appropriate content, write posts, invite guest bloggers; research and identify online sources of information that would be resource for our clients and potential clients, write commentary and provide links to this information; identify content that would be appropriate for blogging from staff and other interns. Establish relationships with sister organizations, people in the industry/profession, consultants and speakers; track their contact information, and introduce the leadership of the company to those contacts so there is continuity with them for years to come. Work independently from your location while collaborating with staff and interns as necessary.

Association/Non-Profit Sector

Establish relationships with sister organizations, people in the industry/profession, consultants and speakers; track their contact information, and introduce the leadership of the organization(s) to those contacts so there is continuity with them for years to come. Work independently from your location while collaborating with staff, volunteers, and interns as necessary.

Responsibilities

You will have the opportunity to work from the ground up. You will quickly become an expert in online journalism and learn an extensive amount of information on how a company uses blogging to the benefit of their business and marketing procedures. You will walk away with new knowledge and skills plus develop an understanding of the not-for-profit world. You may also have the opportunity to meet other not-for-profit professionals from a variety of organizations who are Accrete clients. Our culture is knowledge-based and team-oriented. Ideas for how to streamline processes to be more efficient and more effectively are welcome. Those you work with will provide mentorship. You will work directly with Accrete leadership and potentially members of the volunteer leadership team. Your experience will result in high-level skills and high-level responsibilities to add to your resume. If you are successful as an intern, you will receive a stellar letter of recommendation, contacts to people in high places for business opportunities, and coaching each week to help you reach your professional goals. Everything you create (that is not confidential) will be available to you for your professional portfolio and Accrete will help you arrange for academic credit if necessary.

Requirements

Organized, detail-oriented, and ability to be creative with writing. Please have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Comfort and proficiency with technology like e-mail, the Internet, MS Office, and have the willingness to learn user-friendly software. Able to multi-task and work independently. Must be reliable, punctual, and able to attend phone meetings a few times a week to meet with staff. Being adaptable to changes in projects and priorities as required.
