Federal Computer Week reports on government policy and management of information technology. The successful intern candidate will contribute to the publication – in print and online – and gain valuable skills in journalism. You will shadow experienced reporters, learn the flow of content from idea to final product and take part in reporting, writing and researching content.
The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in government, including policy, the legislative process, government operations and the role of contractors. The intern will gain first hand knowledge of how a modern news organization works including writing print and online assignments, covering events in the nation’s capital and incorporating social media into the news operation.
Duties will include:
Conducting interviews and writing stories
Aggregating news content
Supporting social media efforts
The ideal candidate will be a rising junior or graduate student
Excellent writing and proofreading skills
Basic knowledge of AP style
Ability to manage multiple assignments
Strong ability to meet multiple deadlines
