DescriptionBlack Is (www.blackisonline.com) is a website that showcases the interests and experiences of Black American people. We are purveyors of Black-owned businesses, artistry, culture, and lifestyle. We are dedicated to sharing how rich and diverse this experience is with all members of the human race. Based in Los Angeles, CA we are also purveyors of Los Angeles events that occur within the myriad of Black communities here.
We are looking for a Social Media Associate to join our team. The right candidate will quickly gain an understanding of the Black Is mission and voice and be able to find compelling online content to match. The associate should also be a master at Facebook metrics and post scheduling, and arrange for 4-6 posts daily on the Black Is Facebook page. Lastly, the right candidate should be able to access Facebook quickly and consistently to increase page engagement, interaction, and help increase page likes.
The selected candidates will be given a 5-day trial period before a full internship is offered. Internships are year-round and offered 3 months at a time.
The Social Media Associate will be responsible for:
Researching content to post on various social media platforms daily
Interact with consumers in real time on various social media platforms
Participate in the development of strategies designed to meet company goals
Stay abreast of and report on trends and best practices
-Enrolled in a 2 or 4 year institution of higher education
-Active on Facebook
-Strong research skills
-Excellent spelling, punctuation, and grammar skills
-Strong oral communication skills
-Typing ability: at least 35 WPM
-Natural community organizer
-Communications, Journalism, or English majors preferred
-Able to receive college credit for the internship
