DescriptionDo you love keeping up with the news? Well Degree180 is looking for an individual who will source news stories and help contribute to it’s newly formed blog.
If you are looking to gain experience and skills for your first job then this is the place for you. We are looking for driven, enthusiastic individuals that will join our team and help us grow. You will be working remotely from the comfort of your dorm room with regular communicating with the founders via Skype to help build and develop the blog.
WORK FOR A BETTER TOMORROW Degree180 is a start-up based out of New York City looking to change the way we read and experience the news and information around us. We are a creative agency that is always looking to grow and diversify our production portfolio. We are currently working on a number of different projects that you could be a part of if you are driven and passionate. Some of those projects include developing a talk show, producing events in NYC and around the country as well as building content for the blog.
ResponsibilitiesUnlike internships at other organizations, our start-up is looking to change the way business is done and reshape the way we experience the world around us as individuals and in our careers. You will gain real-world experience in sourcing, evaluating and interpreting all the information that the media feeds us everyday, from print to digital. We hope to refocus our generation away from celebrity media, towards a more meaningful and transformative consciousness and we want you to help us do this. You can also expect to gain PR skills while promoting Degree180 in some of the following ways:
‐ Promoting the blog on your campus and across your social media
‐ Enhancing the organization’s social media presence and blog online
‐ Participating in strategy meetings, conference calls, media interviews and projects
‐ Supporting special events and projects; and much more!
RequirementsDo you wish to help disrupt the media, into a more positive, thought-probing environment? If you answered yes, then come join our movement. We need someone that can cover a number of different news outlets to build a database of topics and stories for the blog to cover.
To be considered for the public relations Summer/Fall or Winter/Spring internship, you must:
‐ Maintain an overall GPA of 2.5 or higher;
‐ Major in fine arts, public relations, communications, English, journalism or marketing;
‐ Be a junior or senior
‐ Knowledge of Wordpress is a plus
