Description

The Caregiver Space is a start-up non-profit that is building a community of professional and family caregivers. We provide community support and help caregivers navigate available resources. By working with such a small team, you have an opportunity to contribute significantly to the organization and the work we do.

We're looking for someone to review books and films. All reviews will be published in our reviews section on our website.

Reports to:

The President and Director of The Caregiver Space.

Time commitment:

4 or more hours per month, flexible schedule.


About us:

The Caregiver Space is recruiting volunteers to join our eclectic and geeky staff, office pup, and visionary founder. For those with an interest in nonprofits, healthcare, social justice, digital marketing, community outreach, and content development, The Caregiver Space provides an engaging opportunity to learn about and support the makings of a burgeoning nonprofit organization.

The Caregiver Space is a start-up nonprofit with a large following. We are looking to empower caregivers to share their story and connect to each other on our site and increase the number of informational articles we publish each week.

Location:

Our office is in the Flatiron in Manhattan. We are happy to have people come into the office or work remotely - or, ideally, find a comfortable mix of the two.

Responsibilities

Write one review each week.
Prepare each review for publication in WordPress.

Requirements

Required skills and qualifications:

Skills:

Excellent writing skills, in particular strong editing and proofreading skills
Able to work independently
Proficiency in Google Docs and WordPress or similar software (We are happy to train you in both if you can come to our office)

Qualifications:

A diploma in communications/journalism/English, or other training and experience will be an asset
Familiarity with family and/or professional caregiving is a plus, but not necessary
Empathetic non-judgmental perspective

While we can provide some books and films in hard copy, interns will be expected to get other materials through the library.
