Description[WORK REMOTE - OPEN TO STUDENTS IN ALL LOCATIONS]
Are you interested in journalism and broadcast media?
Are you obsessed with technology, apps and social media?
Also have an interest in some of the following?
If the answer is YES, then you could be the person we want to join our team!
Sticky.fm is a new startup launching February that is disrupting the way technology news is reported.
Our streaming internet radio stations provide the latest breaking technology news, app reviews and more on a 24/7 basis. Imagine a radio version of CNN Headline News meets TechCrunch.
We also syndicate the top tech and startup podcasts and have already signed huge names such as Product Hunt and Entrepreneur on Fire. And we also work with terrestrial FM radio stations.
We're looking to build a core distributed team of young, talented and energetic journalists who will file stories on the areas of interest listed above.
Stories are called in and recorded via phone (voicemail) then broadcasted on our streaming radio stations. Reports should be approx 60-90 seconds so they are bite sized. Additionally you must have a clear speaking voice.
Field journalists work remotely from their current location and part time. The position is well suited for full-time students.
We ask for approx one story a week min. There are no deadlines or assignments, so you must be a motivated self-starter. You're free to be creative and pursue the stories that interest you.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to get into broadcast journalism. You will quickly build your own portfolio of stories, all of which will be broadcasted on the "air".
Please see PDF for even more details:
You MUST be:
- Easy to reach (via email)
- Motivated and excited about joining a startup
We are in the process of securing investment funding as well as organically monetizing the model. The best journalists on our intern team will be offered industry standard compensation when that occurs.
We are on a tight launch schedule and looking to move fast, so if this is the position for you, apply now.
Startups on the Radio
Note this is an internship so no experience is required. However you must have a strong interest in journalism.
