Are you trying to get your start in sports journalism and looking to gain first-hand experience that looks great on a resume? and is looking for writers who show a passion for sports journalism and are looking to get their foot in the door. So Much Sports is a credentialed media outlet that will provide you with an opportunity to cover games live on press row and opportunities to be in press conferences where you can directly interview coaches and players. Along the way you will work directly with an editor, who will provide you in depth critique of your writing and provide tips of how to improve and how to craft your own unique style of writing. Our primary focus is covering college sports and we're credentialed to pretty much every school in the area.

Writers will be expected to work on a deadline and act in a professional matter but you'll gain first-hand experience being on press row, interacting with coaches, players, Sports Information Directors and other sorts administrators while improving as a writer.

Writers who have written for So Much Sports have gone on to work for the Associated Press, News Day, become Sports Information Directors at schools, the Baltimore Sun and other various media outlets throughout the country.

No experience necessary, just a desire to learn.

NOTE: Since the basis of this internship is covering live college sporting events, understand that during the summer months, when there are no games going on, it is not be the best time to take this internship.


The main requirement will be for interns to cover men's and women's soccer, basketball and/or lacrosse games from one of the colleges in Maryland. Interns will be expected to be at the games and press conferences and submit and article in real time on a deadline.


A basic knowledge of sports and a desire to learn.
