Description

What is the role of music in social and eco justice? How are musicians, record labels musical arts institutions engaging with, ignoring or fighting social and eco injustices? Tackle these issues as a contributing editor at Fabulously Feminist (fabulouslyfeminist.com), a digital magazine that uses intersectional feminism as a tool to give people a voice. We are a community of dedicated contributors and passionate passers-by. We are all about sharing stories and experiences, talking about art and culture and exchanging ideas.

Responsibilities

Compose one 600-800 word article per month, on a topic which engages with both music and intersectional feminism
Articles may include interviews, song reviews, recommendation lists etc
Work with an editor over 2-3 weeks to develop your piece for publication
Effectively follow publication schedule via Google Calendar
Follow all submission guidelines
Communicate effectively with Senior Staff and fellow contributors
At all times effectively represent Fabulously Feminist in a professional manner

Requirements

***This internship requires a minimum commitment of 6-8 months***

Fabulously Feminist Content Is:
Comprised of text, illustrations, graphics, videos
Relevant to an intersectional feminist dialogue
Built on high quality not quantity or duration etc
Original, and not previously published online or in print

Skills

Required - English, Music Criticism, Feminist Theory, Writing Skills
Preferred - Activism, Music Education, LGBT community, African American Studies, Disabilities
