DescriptionMade in the District is looking for extremely organized editorial writer interns, video editor interns, graphic designer interns, hosts and social media interns to join the MITD team! Madeinthedistrict.us is a digital content, online-based publication and production company pushing the creative boundaries across various disciplines, including film commercials, digital media, music videos, experimental, interactive content, photography, event production and more.
I am also searching for an assistant who is organized and good at multitasking. He or she will help me schedule every department, keep the calendar up-to-date with events, and will be aware of possible projects and collaborations for the production company.
Candidates can be currently enrolled in school or alumni, and should be able to dedicate at least two days per week from December 2015 until Summer 2016 with a 6 month commitment period. There is an availability sheet that each member will fill out weekly. As a member of the MITD team, interns will be expected to assist the Editor-in-Chief with general administrative duties, writing list-style feature articles for the site, coordinating events, researching, transcribing, and copy editing. Hosts will be expected to come in on time and should list their availability weekly.
Working with the MITD team will give interns the opportunity to gain invaluable editorial skills and learn about web publication processes. Candidates should have excellent writing and communication skills, attention to detail, and a sense of humor. They should also be able to work efficiently, and be flexible, dedicated and hard working. Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel, Wordpress and Adobe Photoshop is preferred.
Internships are for college credit and a monthly transportation stipend will be provided.
Send your resume, a brief cover letter, and writing sample(s) to firstname.lastname@example.org. You must indicate the days you are available and if you are eligible to receive college credit. Please put “EDITORIAL Intern”, “HOST Intern” or “ASSISTANT Intern” in the subject of your email. Candidates who fail to follow these directions will not be considered. Hosts will send a headshot and a demo reel or actor’s reel.
