Editorial Intern
Job Description

The Editorial Intern will be responsible for writer engaging and compelling copy for the magazine.

Reporting To:
• Creative Director

• Write and edit compelling copy for the magazine.
• Brainstorm story ideas with team.
• Coordinate with Photography and Graphic Design Interns to select and plan the kinds of images or artwork to accompany stories. The Creative Director will choose the final choices.
• Use AP Style

• Bachelors Degree (or working toward) in Journalism, Communication, or English.
• Uncover the story.
• Ability to write on many topics including fashion, beauty, pop-culture, food, world news, politics, community news (target audience/market), etc.
• Be Personable and friendly. You may be asked to interview celebrities and other public figures.
• Strong research and writing skills, attention to detail and accuracy.
• Previous experience in publishing a plus.
• Excellent self-starter with the ability to work effectively independently.
• Excellent communication skills for a team environment.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to take initiative, show good judgment and think critically.
