Description914INC., a business lifestyle magazine from the publishers of Westchester Magazine, is seeking Editorial Interns for the fall and spring semesters at our Westchester County, New York offices. ResponsibilitiesResearch and "legwork" on upcoming stories (a lot of phone work and Internet-based research), original writing, interviewing, and reporting, compiling of data for editorial projects and for databases and lists which support the editorial operations of the magazine. Previous interns have gone on to become paid freelance contributors and staff editors for the magazine.
RequirementsThe ideal candidate will either be a business/economics/finance major with a dual interest in writing/journalism/media/publishing, or the converse.
Unlike many internships that involve making coffee and filing, this internship will offer opportunities to do extensive research, original reporting and writing, so qualified candidates must possess excellent writing abilities (with a solid command of grammar, syntax, and mechanics), meticulous research and organizational skills, and a polished, professional demeanor.
