DescriptionNew Bronx City was founded by Jennifer Alvarez (school teacher) and Mysonne Linen (International Hip Hop artist/ social activist). New Bronx City, Inc. is an urban multimedia company based out of the Bronx, NY. New Bronx city has several outlets. It also serves as a coalition of Hip Hop businesses in the Bronx. New Bronx City represents a few notable independent international Hip Hop artists. The Bronx is the birthplace of Hip Hop; New Bronx City serves as a new era renaissance for Hip Hop. We’re dedicated to exposing independent artists and helping make their dreams become realities. When we speak of artists we speak of singers, Hip Hop artists, writers, video producers, video directors, actors and so forth. One essential component of New Bronx City is their radio show. New Bronx City Radio premiered on Wednesday, January 7th, 2015. The scheduled programming is every Wednesday, from 9pm-10:30pm. New Bronx City Radio has on average 10k-12k viewers per show, since it premiered. Their moto is “Radio for the people, by the people” and the programming proves that. Lastly, New Bronx City is a platform for the people by the people. Presently, New Bronx City is re-launching the website which will provide another outlet for talented independent artists of the arts to expose their talent.
Responsibilities- Submit articles for www.newbronxcity.com (writing categories are regular news, entertainment news, sports news and music reviews
-Assist with editorial projects and provide support to the Communications Editor.
- Proofreading both hard and electronic files, basic copyediting, and writing of proposals and reports;
- Assisting with or proofing of basic ads, flyers, brochures, invitations, etc.
- Work on special projects, as needed
Requirements- Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, English, business communications, or communication arts.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with keen attention to detail and problem solving skills
- Knowledge of MS Office applications, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience/interest in Web maintenance
- Familiarity with Adobe In Design and Adobe Acrobat is a plus
