VGC Foundation Brings "History, Safety, Gaming for a Better World"

The Video Gaming Community Foundation is a nonprofit organization 501 (c) (3) dedicated to consistently providing education on the history of video game and computer technology, and providing education on video game safety. VGC maintain's a friendly creative work environment that respects diversity, ideas, and hard work.

VGC Foundation puts on events at many Video Game Expos throughout Southern California, VGC shows guests the history of video games and computer gaming technology. Guests not only get an opportunity to play every game console ever made for the last 50 years, they also get an educational experience from it. Workshops and panel discussions educate guests on video game safety, time management, and sportsmanship. Workshops will also feature educational experiences in game design, computer programming, computer building and repair, voice acting, and animation.

We also hold small workshops and panel discussions throughout the year with local schools, youth organizations, video game clubs, and conventions on video game and computer game safety.

Currently we're looking for a smart + creative intern, who is preferably working for school credit, and who can commit to a minimum of 2-3 days per week.


- Assist with editorial projects and provide support to the Communications Editor.
- Proofreading both hard and electronic files, basic copy editing, and writing of proposals and reports;
- Work on special projects
Assisting in Production
Artist Development
Public Relations and Administration
Consolidation of elements for various Promotion and Marketing plans
Assisting in New Media Marketing Campaigns
Assisting in Building Artist On-line presence
Assisting in Web site development
Assisting in Sales solicitations and professional management
Organize writer, publishing and producer deal points
Solicit and Evaluating Music / Screenplays and other materials
Prepare elements for live performances
Assist and take notes during in studio and off-site meetings
Organize and consolidate graphic elements for video and photo shoots
Data entry
Manage phones and messages
Schedule and prepare elements for meetings
Media back up and duplication
Travel arrangements
Assisting in the Enhancement and/or creation of Power Point presentations
Assist in getting writer, producer and publisher contracts signed


- Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, English, business communications, or communication arts.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with keen attention to detail and problem solving skills
- Knowledge of MS Office applications, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience/interest in Web maintenance
- Familiarity with Adobe In Design and Adobe Acrobat is a plus
Have a desire to work in the entertainment industry
Be available minimum 3 days per week
Excellent written & verbal communication skills
Passion for music and / or Passion for Film and TV
PC and/or Mac proficient (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Internet savvy
Social media savvy
Good at multi-tasking
Self-motivated / works well independently
Energetic with a positive attitude
Reliable transportation
Knowledge of Pro Tools
Knowledge of Final Cut Pro
Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and/or Illustrator a plus


Required - Gaming Industry, Proficient in Microsoft Office, Entertainment Journalism, Mac & PC platforms, Computer Gaming
Preferred - Adobe CS5
