Description

Our client, The Westwood School in North Dallas has an upcoming radio show series called The Nature of Science. The school is a leading educator in IB and Montesorri Education in the nation. The radio show is led by the science dept. It is designed to be a one hour, once a week program on all things science and to help bring STEM subject matter to the general public through a streaming station ready to carry the show.
Intern will be responsible for setting up interviews for host of show, scheduling recording and researching/writing content for programming. This is an exciting opportunity as it will allow the intern to learn all elements of radio show programming in a modern setting and be able to explore production leadership as well.

Responsibilities

Scheduling of guests, emailing, research for subject matter, basic recording set up of show and guest interviews. Create and manage an ongoing list of possible show guests, their subject matter and recording availability.
Working closely with show host to create programming content and show production.

Requirements

Must be a self- starter, very organized and forward thinking.
Excellent speaking skills and phone communication as well as excellent writing skills for email communication with guests and program content.
Basic journalism or communications coursework completed.
