DescriptionIVN.us, a nationally recognized, nonpartisan, political news website is accepting interns for Winter, Fall, Spring, and Summer sessions.
During the program, interns will build a network of public affairs officials, elected representatives, and industry experts through their original reporting. In addition, interns will establish a professional portfolio of published work. The internship program is designed to familiarize one with journalism in the digital age as well as expose interns to nonpartisan political reporting.
A minimum weekly commitment of at least 10-15 hours of on site participation are required to receive course credit.
Intern alumni have gone on to positions with USA Today, CNN, the ACLU and others.
ResponsibilitiesInterns are given daily writing assignments and will work closely with our editorial team to edit and publish high-quality articles online. Story assignments include national, state, and local politics.
Expectations include actively participating in the editorial process by contributing to developing story ideas and completing assignments by the given deadline.
RequirementsMust be currently attending a higher education institution in San Diego and possess strong writing skills.
