DescriptionBuild a portfolio of published feature work with a new professional basketball teams in New England and New Jersey.
In the first project you will write feature pieces on our athletes to be used on our website, game programs, fan newsletters, media packets and beyond. We are not looking for "puff pieces," We want to tell the human stories of the individuals who make up our team.
There are also other assignments available, ie. press releases, web copy, etc.
There are endless projects beyond this project. Reporting on games and other team's players would be examples. We are also open to your creative ideas and you doing work that inspires you.
Responsibilities-Research your subjects thoroughly
-Interview your subjects to find multiple story angles
-Develop sources and develop source-rich research
-Write awesome copy
Requirements-You love to tell human stories and do it well, in English.
-You are not afraid to ask difficult questions and can do so respectfully, with tact
-You handle yourself in a professional, dignified manner
-You like to research and incorporate multiple sources into your work
-You keep detailed, accurate notes to support your work
Software we use:
You need to be comfortable with Google Apps and Slack. If you have skills or familiarity in Adobe Apps or similar that is helpful but not necessary.
