Internship (February – April)
Category: Digital Media/Professional Sports
Boston Whitecap’s professional ultimate frisbee team, is seeking bright young writers to fill positions as editorial interns for the spring semester.
In exchange, we offer a jump-right-in experience that's low on grunt work and high on opportunity. Duties include reporting, feature writing, fact-checking, research and some editing. Interns work directly with the team's content manager and general manager, as well as the leagues communication team.
Interns will be asked to cover preseason team news, player signings and training camp for publication on the web, and will also be asked to work with the social media team in reporting team news and updates.
RequirementsCandidates should be enrolled at a college or university and be able to receive academic credit for their internship. Applicants should have experience in the field of journalism, whether or not that is your major.
The internships are unpaid. A minimum commitment of 20 hours a week is required, but we are willing to work around an applicant’s schedule. Certain positions may require working at night or on weekends.
Prior knowledge of ultimate frisbee is not necessary, but general sports knowledge is preferred.
