DescriptionAre you a freelance content creator that aspires to have, or currently lives a sustainable lifestyle? We’d like to provide you a great opportunity to grow personally and professionally. Based in Los Angeles, we are a group of influencers who seek to educate others about impressively advanced eco-friendly lifestyles. We have a personal fervor for culturally relevant experiences that are progressive in speaking to varied demographics and are looking for more like-minded individuals to join us as we advance and educate others on what it means to live a sustainable lifestyle. We are growing an online magazine that will incorporate news, culture, lifestyle, events, and profile the change-makers in the field of sustainability. Think Millenial Magazine meets Conscious Mag who bumped into The Guardian Sustainable and got a spark of Rolling Stones. We are powered by a sustainability and marketing consultancy group whose mission is to propel companies invested in the improvement of healthy and sustainable lifestyles with innovative and culturally impactful marketing solutions.
This internship will provide you with exposure to a network in sustainability, and give you the platform to practice your writing skills while being broadcasted to a dedicated audience of the subject at hand.
This is non-paid and can be applied towards school credit.
ResponsibilitiesSeeking a lively and curious freelance and/or aspiring journalists, bloggers and videographers to report on the most interesting news and happenings around the world of sustainability. We are growing a new media outlet that will include the latest innovations and creative happenings within the green sector. We’ll be talking everything from sustainable fashion to green marketing, events, and lifestyle. We are providing a platform for those who have a passion for sustainability in their respective fields and want to be part of a creative community with a progressive socially conscious brand. Our focus is the U.S., but are very much interested in what's happening around the world. This is a media outlet that is backed by a talented and highly experienced marketing consultancy dedicated to the sustainability sector. We will publish regularly. Content will be promoted on social media sites and through a quarterly newsletter. We offer the opportunity to cross promote and link to your website and blog as well (if applicable). We want you to shine as much as you are contributing as an influencer and voice in sustainability.
You’ll have access to an accomplished entrepreneur and executive in the world of marketing and sustainability, who is providing this platform and is equally excited to teach and mentor those interested in developing a career dedicated towards sustainable practices.
RequirementsIntern must have:
Access to a computer/internet
Be available at least 10 hours per week and be responsive. You can work remotely and at any time, as long as the content is being produced and in due time.
Research and Interview skills
Ability to present and articulate creative ideas in line with company’s vision
Experience in social media marketing a plus. If you’re interested in this area, we can help you grow this skill as well.
Strong interest in Sustainable Lifestyles and Eco-friendly solutions
Strong communications and collaborative skills
Strong conceptual thinking
Must be organized, detail-oriented and accurate
Responsible with follow-through
Positive attitudes only. If you think one person has the capacity to make a difference, we are on the same page.
Journalism, English, Communications, Environmental Studies, Sustainability Major or Minor preferred.
Up on current media and sector trends, and a great sense of humor should be a given.
If you are interested please send your information, portfolio examples (links to published work), your area of focus ,(lifestyle, news, the arts, sustainable fashion, CSR, eco-friendly products, green design, etc.), and your time commitment. Content is needed on a regular basis and ask for a dedication of at least 4 content pieces per month. This means you’re doing research, interviewing, creating info-graphics, writing, whatever is needed in order to produce rich content pieces. There is flexibility.
