DescriptionInside Investor is an international media company, event organiser and business consulting company with offices in Kuala Lumpur, Dubai, Hong Kong and Barcelona. It began operations in Southeast Asia in 2010 with the publication of sector-specific country reports designed to inform asset managers, corporations and other investors. Ranging from Malaysia to Thailand to Qatar, these reports contain in-depth analysis and data on major economic sectors, such as healthcare, pharmaceuticals and manufacturing. Inside Investor is currently expanding its analysis offerings, introducing the forthcoming quarterly Inside Investor Magazine, case studies and bespoke research.
With extensive experience holding events in the Middle East, Inside Investor has held numerous events in both Southeast Asia and the GCC connecting businesses and governments to investors and thereby facilitating deals worth billions of dollars. Most recently, Inside Investor held the Inside Investor Forum Asia 2012, a high-level event on investing in ASEAN and the GCC in Doha, Qatar, held under the patronage of the Prime Minister of Qatar, and brought in 10 of the most powerful women in the UAE for the Power Ladies 2011, held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Forthcoming events are to be held in London, Kuala Lumpur, Doha, Manila and Jakarta over 2012-13.
ResponsibilitiesInside Investor is looking for an editorial Research Assistant with experience/background in journalism and/or communications, public relations and knowledge of economic/financial topics. The job duties include assisting the editorial department in fact and data research as well as fact checking, collecting, analysing and processing. The Research Assistant will also support the editorial department in writing, editing and research projects and must be able to evaluate research methods, procedures and techniques based on established objectives.
RequirementsExpected Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, economics or related sciences
0-2 years of experience in data research, e.g. for an economic thesis or project work
Interest in international economic relations
Editorial skills, e.g. having worked for a student publication
Ability to work independently
Strong English writing skills
Proficiency in one or more East Asian languages and knowledge in desktop and online publishing are a plus
