Web and Social Media Intern/Volunteer

QueerMinded is a new kind of podcast, and we're creating something awesome! We're a group of volunteers focused on telling stories important to Trans*, Queer & Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual people of color and allies around the country and around the world. We discuss the news and issues important to us...while having a bit of fun doing it.

We are revamping our products to offer both podcasts as well as a news and content service for local on-air and internet radio shows focused on QTPOC audiences. The successful candidate will work with us to create and curate content for our local and national websites, as well as help with social media strategy and execution.

We are looking for someone to join us who has a strong interest in LGBTQ news and community issues, and has previous experience working on an information or culture website (or has built/run their own site or blog on these topics).

This commitment will be for 90 days with option to extend based on performance. Because this is an UNPAID internship/volunteer commitment, we are willing to assist with credits for students if desired. We will happily accept non-students with the desired qualifications that would like to volunteer their time for QueerMinded.

QueerMinded is based in New York City and Columbus, Ohio and preference will be given to local candidates. However, strong and passionate candidates from around the country should apply if their experience fits the requirements.

Along with your resume, please send us information relating to blogs you've written or worked on, two of your best writing samples, and your twitter/instagram handles. Take a look at our website http://www.radioqueerminded.com to see what we do and hear our shows!
